Silent Hill (サイレントヒル Sairento Hiru?) is a series of survival horror video games consisting of seven installments published by Konami Digital Entertainment. The first four games in the series were developed by Team Silent, a development staff within Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo, Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories by Climax Studios, Silent Hill Homecoming by Double Helix Games, while Silent Hill: Downpour is currently under post-production by Vatra Games. The games' player characters are "everymen" traversing through Silent Hill, a fictional American town which exists in a multiverse, and the storylines unravel a psychological repression regarding the cast of characters along with the history regarding the town.
Adaptations of Silent Hill include various printed ones and a film adaptation, while a second film adaptation is currently filming.[1] Other media related to the series include printed ones and spin-off video games.
